In the last week the golf course has really dried out! I feel lucky and grateful we were able to get the irrigation pump station repaired when we did.
Although we are currently averaging about 450,000 gallons of water nightly, it’s more about putting the right amount of water in the right places. In general drier is always better than wet.
This coming week we will be concentrating on fertilizer applications on greens, tees and fairways, adding sand to select bunkers as needed, and spraying broadleaf in the rough (specifically the white clover).
The new putting green is coming along nicely. In addition to weekly light topdressing and very small reductions in height we are also rolling it regularly to try to get it smooth. Soon, it will be open.
